Dowites78 Operation Theatre Complex; a healthcare initiative taken by the graduates of Dow Medical College class of 1978, supported by a network of alumni, benefactors, and philanthropic partners who share a unified purpose “To ensure that every individual, irrespective of financial circumstance, has access to safe and dignified surgical and medical care”. In collaboration with Dr. Ruth K. M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, we have developed one of the country’s most advanced public–private healthcare facilities; an Operation Theatre Complex comprising 14 fully equipped, state-of-the-art operating rooms, where thousands of life-saving procedures are undertaken each year, entirely Free of Cost.

Recognizing the escalating burden of diabetes in Pakistan, Dowites78 expanded its scope in 2019 with the establishment of the Dowites78 Foot & Wound Care Centre, a specialized unit dedicated to managing diabetic foot complications, preventing avoidable amputations, and preserving mobility and livelihood. Managing nearly 90–100 patients per day in OPD, the Centre has rapidly become a critical resource for individuals who would otherwise face disability, prolonged suffering, or loss of income. Together, these services reflect our enduring commitment to safeguard life, protect limbs, restore independence, and support families during their most vulnerable moments.
